The introduction of vehicle tracking allows transport manager Andy Grieg to pinpoint the exact location
Key Benefits
- Improvement in customer service
- Savings on wages
- Increased efficiency
- Reduction in downtime
Savings of up to £200,000 by end of the year.
PMS International Group has experienced countless benefits since introducing the Navman Wireless tracking solution to help run its vehicles. As one of the UK’s leading suppliers of household goods and toys, the company makes up to 220 drops a day, delivering 7000 products to wholesellers, cash and carries and major retailers nationwide. By integrating Navman’s solution with routing and scheduling software from Paragon, PMS International is running its 30 vehicles more efficiently - and saving money at the same time.
Initially, the solution was forecasted to have paid for itself within eight months. But the added level of control provided by the new system means that Neil Beverley, Director of PMS International, is confident they will see a return on their investment in less than that timeframe. “Being able to run Paragon in conjunction with Navman’s tracking service saves us a lot of admin time and ensures that all the vans are used efficiently,” he explains. In fact, Neil Beverley estimates that the combined solution will have saved the business up to £200,000 by the end of the year.

Navman vehicle tracking provides 100% peace of mind
Until the introduction of Navman Wireless’ satellite tracking technology around 18 months ago Chris Bennett (Heavy Haulage) had to communicate with its drivers via mobile phones to find out exactly where they were. Now transport manager Andy Greig can pinpoint the exact location of all 40 of the firm’s vehicles in an instant.
Using Navman Wireless’ web-based OnLineAVL solution, Andy can zoom in on the vehicle in question on his PC to determine its exact location down to street level. He can even see how fast the vehicle is moving and how long it has been on the road for. Vehicle locations are updated every 10 minutes so Andy has a very accurate picture of where the firm’s vehicles are at any given time. This has helped significantly with management control of the company, providing Chris Bennett (Heavy Haulage) with 100 per cent peace of mind. “It certainly means reduced stress levels which has saved me a few grey hairs,” admits Andy.
